Meet the Mitchell JobLink Staff

The staff at Mitchell Joblink are well qualified to assist customers with up to date and accurate advice in today's ever changing labor market. This article will focus on the staff that work in the Mitchell Joblink. There are 2 permanant ESC staff and 2 part time ESC staff people present at Mitchell Joblink to assist customers. Mayland Workforce Development houses 3 permanant staff and 1 part time staffer at the center to assist with career and schooling needs. This article will introduce each staff person and provide a brief description of their job duties.

Chris Silvers, Employment Security Commission (ESC) Office Manager:
Oversee daily operations at the JobLink center. Manage all programs provided by ESC in Mitchell County.

Allen Cook, Youth Career Counselor:
Works with the Mitchell County Get REAL program. Get REAL provides resources, employment, advancement, and learning for youth ages 16 - 21. Allen also provides office support to the JobLink. Allen works Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridadys at the Joblink.

Liz Tinney, ESC Employment Consultant (Employment Services Specialist):
Processes unemployment claims, writes job orders and maintains employer information and interaction. Educates high school students, inmates and former offenders about career choices, interviews and application skills, and overcoming barriers to employment. Organizes Older Workers and Former Offender Initiative programs. Assists Hispanic/Latino customers who don’t speak English or who interact better in Spanish.

Joyce Glenn, Mayland Workforce Programs, Adult and Dislocated Worker Case Manager:
Works with unemployed / uderemployed adults and dislocated workers to obtain skills for gaining employment and becoming self sufficient. Assists with training costs if training is required and also assists with job search skills.

Shelley Rohl, ESC, Employment Consultant (RES and TAA Programs):
Provide full range of ESC services to meet employment and training needs of clients. Provide assistance with all aspects of Unemployment Insurance; including: orientations, keying claims and troubleshooting claims issues. Job Coach for the Re-Employment Services (RES) program. Services include: assessments, career guidance, referrals to jobs and job training programs, computer and employability skills. Provide services for Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) workers.
